ABOUT ME
New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Schools
I'm a 28-year resident of Hudson, and with my husband David, raised our sons from K through 12 in Hudson schools. We moved here for the same reasons many families move here: for the excellent schools. When our sons were in school, I was an active volunteer in their school and extracurricular activities.
VISION
I bring what no other new candidate can bring: the practical experience of governance, public finance and educational policy - expertise critically important in these challenging times of shifting federal and state policies. Financial resources will become more scarce. Our residents need clear answers and sound leadership to keep our schools strong. My vision is that Hudson Schools remain one of the best educational options in our region, and in these times, it will take focused leadership to achieve the high standards expected in our community.
LEADERSHIP AND EXPERIENCE
I've spent the last 17 years as an education grantmaker for the largest private charitable foundation in Summit County, the GAR Foundation. As their Senior Vice President, I led all of the education strategy and grantmaking, and it taught me about teachers and the incredible work they do for our students in Hudson and across Summit county.
I am also an expert in educational policy and board governance, having served as the Board Chair both for Summit Education Initiative and the Early Childhood Resource Center, two of our county's incredible education resources for families. I also currently serve on the Board of United Way Summit & Medina. I also serve on Governor DeWine's Children & Youth Advisory Council. I am committed to children and youth success.
These leadership roles have prepared me to lead for you, and I'm ready to serve as your Hudson School Board member! I will advocate for Hudson students, teachers and families when and where you need me to.
